STANDARDS OF PRACTICE

We will abide by the highest level of industry standards required by our professional affiliations. The State of Washington has adopted guidelines; the "Standards of Practice" that we meet and in most cases exceed. In addition to those requirements as a member of N.A.R.I.E.S; the National Association of Real-estate Inspection and Evaluation Services, our reports go above and beyond what our competitors produce. The information you will receive includes valuable maintenance tips and guidelines to ensure your investment will maintain its value and provide a safe home for you and your family for years to come.
RADON TESTING

We offer additional services that can assure your home purchase is an investment you can feel comfortable about. Did you know the national average radon indoor level is 1.3 pCi/L? (radioactive disintegrations in one liter of air, during a 24-hour period). Spokane County according to the EPA has 9 pCi/L! One of the highest in the Country!

A radon test can determine if your home is a candidate for a passive or active radon mitigation system. It is relatively easy to decrease your risk from radon by testing and if necessary outfitting your home.

PEST INSPECTION

A licensed home inspector is precluded from commenting on the specifities of pests. However at WHI we have contracted with licensed certified pest inspectors who can, in conjunction with our detailed home inspections, provide you with a detailed and specific pest inspection report.  It’s not necessary to commit to a pest inspection unless the initial home inspection shows evidence of "potentially wood destroying organisms".

Most residential home inspectors will sell you on a pest inspection prior to their home inspection - similarly a stand alone pest inspector will entice you to preform a complete pest inspection with no evidence of potentially wood destroying organisms. WHI will only, when evidence dictates, recommend a pest inspection on your behalf.
